Edition 3. 11 - The Prophetic Scroll. Edition 3. 11: May 1. The logic of the pre- tribulation rapture: The logic of the pre- tribulation rapture: Introduction: Today there are very few churches worldwide teaching on end times and even fewer teaching on the rapture. It is the greatest story never told! And the result is – the sheep are blind, vulnerable and totally worldly. Those who believe in a pre- tribulation rapture (pre- tribbers) and those who believe in a post tribulation rapture (post- tribbers) will always be at each other’s throats and always for the same reasons. There is one huge, big separating and dividing issue and it’s consistent. It is the belief in dispensations. If you reject the existence of dispensations you can quite easily prove a post- tribulation rapture. The total is 14 days = 21. The computation is precise for Kerne and Cape Verde that are the points of main concern. 33 The great disagreement concerns the last. Albert Schweitzer, OM (14 January 1875 – 4 September 1965) was a French-German theologian, organist, philosopher, and physician. He was born in the province of. If you believe in dispensations, you can’t. This is not a salvation issue, so at the end of the day you should be able to walk with a post tribber, but it is a very important issue not to be avoided. I want to assure you that my motivation in this edition, is not to prove myself right and others wrong. It is not to prove a pre- tribulation rapture position. It is first and foremost to seek, know and honour my Lord and Saviour and His word. The logic of dispensations: The word “dispensation” simply means different divisions in time where God worked in new or different ways with man. That does not mean that God changes, just that He changes in the ways and methods he works. Matthew King, writing Sept. 19 in the American Interest, on the funding crisis that threatens to close the Albert Schweitzer Hospital, in what is now Gabon, founded. How does ibogaine therapy work? African Studies Videotape and Audiocassette: Media Resources Center, UC Berkeley. I have written numerous editions on the subject which you can find in the “Editions by subject” index on the right. Post tribbers have a certain blind spot in their theological thinking. They just can’t see it. Maybe they know it all and just won’t see it, because it brings their post- trib position, to which they are enslaved and attached, crashing down. Dispensations are clearly in the Bible, a number of times and are clearly evident in history and reality. So how can you say dispensations don’t exist? They’re plain logical and in the Bible. Here are some verses dealing with dispensations where the original word for “dispensation”, “Oikonmia” is used: Hebrews 1: 1 “God, who at various times (dispensations) in different ways spoke in times past to the fathers by the prophets, has in the last days spoken to us by His Son..”Ephesians 1: 1. That in the dispensation of the fullness of times, He might gather together in one all things in Messiah..”Ephesian 3: 2 “Have you heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which was given to me for you.”The last trumpet blast of the Feast of Trumpets marks the end of the church age. It is the last trump of the church age and the mark of the start of the next dispensation, the seven- year tribulation period. Many, many things change in the way God deals with man in this dispensation called the tribulation. The dispensation deniers claim that the Old Covenant runs right into the new without any changes and that there is no dispensation of the church age and therefore no pre- tribulation rapture for the church. There will be much more on this in the next edition. I will share with you some incredible revelations and truths about major messages contained within the Feasts, especially the Feast of Trumpets. So now, the post tribbers deny the existence of dispensations. If you do that, how do you explain the verses above (and there are others)? If you deny dispensations you have to claim that we are still under the law, which they do. You then have to deny the fullness of the church age and the age of grace, which they do, or explain it away. Pure logic defeats their entire argument. So many things don’t add up or fit together in their no- dispensation view. I have yet to find one single post- trib argument that is valid. Some are convincing at face value, but when you look more deeply into their position, you see the problems. Some of the post- trib claims are pure lies. The worst is the lie that dispensations and the pre- trib rapture are modern doctrines. It’s an absolute all out lie – look it up – it’s been refuted a million times! Many of the post –trib rapture claims and positions disappear in the light of dispensations. Some logical arguments for a pre- tribulation rapture: (There are many more.). Yet in the tribulation we see that the “saints” are delivered into Satan’s hands to be slaughtered. Revelation 1. 3: 7 “It was granted to him (Satan) to make war with the saints and to overcome them. And authority was given him over every tribe tongue and nation.”The “saints” in this verse above, can’t be the church, because the “gates of hell will not prevail against the church”. The “saints” here are the tribulation saints, which are those who are saved in the tribulation, both Jews and Gentiles. They are a different company to the born- again church, with specific promises given them. Many post- tribbers mock us pre- tribbers saying that we are just escapists, wanting to escape terrible times. Luke 2. 1: 3. 6 “Watch therefore, and pray that always you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass (the tribulation) and to stand before the Son of Man.”Okay, so now we have the great escape in the Bible! If you had the slightest idea of what the tribulation will be like, you would be thankful that God has provided the way of escape! Wrath and punishment: Every one of the verses in the Old and New Covenants dealing with the wrath of God in the tribulation also imply furious punishment in the extreme. In fact, so severe and extreme that we can’t even imagine the horror of what’s coming. The Bible says that it will be a time like never was, nor ever shall be again! Wrath and punishment in the tribulation period are poured out on Satan, his demons, his world and his people, which are those not saved by the blood of the cross of Calvary. Wrath and punishment has in fact been accomplished and dealt with for the believer. It all fell upon our undeserving Messiah of glory on the cross. He paid the price of all sin, evil and wickedness. He took the wrath of God upon Himself. We as believers are given the free gift of His righteousness as our sins are forever destroyed and removed by the power of the cross. But without the work of the cross and the shed blood of Messiah, you are legally guilty, condemned and due to fall under the wrath of God. The entire tribulation period sees wrath being poured out in ever increasing proportions. The second half, the wrath of God, sees the full intensity of it, but the first half is referred to as the “wrath of the Lamb.” Bear in mind that the wrath of Satan and the supernatural wrath of nature run throughout the seven years. Part of the reason for the pre- trib rapture is to separate the righteous from the unrighteous so that God can pour His wrath and indignation on the unsaved. Note in the verses below that the wrath of God is upon the wicked. Legally, it cannot ever be upon the saved, who have already paid the price, in Messiah by His substitutionary transaction. Isaiah 1. 3: 9 “Behold the Day of the Lord comes, cruel, with both wrath and fierce anger, to lay the land desolate; and He will destroy its sinners from it.”Nahum 1: 2 “He reserves His wrath for His enemies.”1 Thessalonians 5: 9 “For God did not appoint us to wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Yeshua the Messiah.”John 3: 3. He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.”Romans 1: 1. The wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness. Ephesians 5: 6 “The wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience.”Note in the verses above who the tribulation is for. It is for and upon: sinners, His enemies, unbelievers, the ungodly and the disobedient. Not one verse says or implies that God’s wrath and punishment is upon His own people, the believers. Assuredly, I say to you, this generation will by no means pass away till all these things are fulfilled.”The above verse maintains that you need to see with spiritual eyes. The word “know” is in the imperative tense and is actually a command and could be written; “I command you to know when it is near.”Yes there is a verse saying “no one knows the time”. That’s got nothing to do with the general statements of our Lord to all believers about the end- times and knowing the time and season. Thessalonians 5: 4 “You brethren are not in darkness, so that this day should overtake you as a thief.”. To those who eagerly wait for Him, He will appear a second time, apart from sin for salvation.”Hebrews 1. Exhort one another.. Thessalonians 5: 4 “You are not in darkness so that this day should overtake you as a thief, therefore let us not sleep but watch.”Matthew 1. Hypocrites, you can discern the face of the sky, but can’t discern the signs of the times.”Matthew 2. When you see all these things, know that it is very near even at the door.. Matthew 2. 5: 1. 3 “.. Watch therefore.” 1 Peter 4: 7 “The end of all things is at hand, be serious and watchful.”John 1. He shall show you things to come.”Jeremiah 3. Call on Me and I will answer you and show you great and mighty things which you do not know.”Amos 3: 7 “Surely the Lord God does nothing unless He reveals His secret to His servants the prophets.”Matthew 2. Amp) “Of that exact dayand hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven nor the Son, but only the Father.”Church minister, reading this, why do you ignore these verses above? Why are you silent on this subject? Read the verses above again. How can you ignore them? You can only do so if you are a blind guide! The argument of silence or absence: Critics of the pre- trib rapture always say that our argument that the church is absent in all the Revelation chapters speaking of the tribulation on the earth, is a weak argument. Biography. Born on January 1. Alsace (then part of Germany; later part of France), Albert Schweitzer was the son of a Lutheran pastor. A little- known fact is that Jean Paul Sartre was Schweitzer's cousin. Because of the difference in their ages, Sartre referred to him always as . He later went on to become the world's leading expert on organ building. In 1. 89. 3, Albert Schweitzer began his studies at the University of Strasbourg, receiving a Doctorate in Philosophy in 1. Sorbonne and the University of Berlin. Later that year he was appointed to the pastoral staff of St. Nicholai's Church in Strasbourg. In 1. 90. 0 he obtained an advanced degree in theology, and within the next two years was appointed principal of St. Thomas College in Strasbourg, Curate at St. Nicholai, and to the faculty in both theology and philosophy at University of Strasbourg. Schweitzer published several books on theology, including the most famous, The Quest for the Historical Jesus, as well as books on Kant, perhaps the definitive biography of Bach, books on organ building, and others. Schweitzer had always felt a strong yearning towards direct service to humanity. In 1. 90. 4, he came by chance upon an article in the Paris Missionary Society's publication indicating their urgent need for physicians in the French colony of Gabon. When he had finished the article, he put the magazine aside and quietly began his work. But his search was over. He saw his time and place; his future, his life, took clear shape.. Schweitzer reached the point of view that atonement for the wrongs that the Christian - - the white man - - had done to underdeveloped peoples - - the black man - - was in itself a justification for missions. The following Sunday the sermon he preached included these words: 'And now, when you speak about missions, let this be your message: We must make atonement for all the terrible crimes we read of in the newspapers. We must make atonement for the still worse ones, which we do not read about in the papers, crimes that are shrouded in the silence of the jungle night.'.. Later he wrote, 'Our institutions are a failure because the spirit of barbarism is at work in them.. Our society has also ceased to allow to all men, as such, a human value and a human dignity; many sections of the human race have become merely raw material and property in human form.' . His destination was to be Africa. His profession would not be music or philosophy or theology, but the practice of medicine.. The reason he desired to study medicine he explained as the desire 'to work with my hands.. For years I have been giving myself out in words' but 'this new form of activity' would not be merely talking about 'the religion of love, but actually putting it into practice. The administration officers felt that he had made a serious mistake in his decision and expressed their disapproval. Friends around Europe could not accept it either and wrote him of their immediate, strenuous objections. The family suggested that the whole enterprise was foolish. They could not conceive that he could bury his life and his talent in the jungle while there were others who could easily take the Congo assignment.. A lady friend told him that he could do much more for the Africans by lecturing on the need for medical assistance.. What irritated Schweitzer more than anything else was the unexpected shallowness and conservatism of so many Christian friends and acquaintances.. Schweitzer was to remember the struggles and the letters of protest and scolding.. Only Helene Bresslau . When Schweitzer arrived at the medical school administrative office, he created a sensation. He recalled the occasion with these words, 'When I went to Professor Fehling, at that time dean of the medical faculty, to give my name as a student, he would have liked best to hand me over to his colleague in the psychiatric department. What he had not anticipated was that, even though Dr. Schweitzer had rearranged his life to meet the most urgent need expressed by The Paris Missionary Society, they turned him down! On the basis of his theological views, Albert Schweitzer, minister and now physician, was rejected by the Society on the grounds that . They were not about to sponsor Schweitzer and open the floodgates to other liberals and radicals. Delay him, yes, but not defeat him.. He would return to the Paris Missionary Society not as a beggar soliciting support but as a self- sufficient doctor offering his professional services. They, not he, as he saw it, would have a chance to redeem themselves; there would be another confrontation with the Society. Schweitzer's wife and a trained nurse, . They compiled lists of friends who might help.. And if they could successfully raise the money, they could tell the Society that it would cost them nothing.. Their list of names expanded.. For eight years he had studied and prepared for his journey. He had resigned from his academic posts, canceled long- term concert and lecture contracts and was totally dependent on a small band of friends for help. Only their love, support and encouragement made it possible for him to go forward.. Schweitzer left for Africa to build the hospital at Lambar. They began their health care delivery in a chicken coop, and gradually added new buildings, so the hospital now treats thousands of patients. The rest of Schweitzer's life experiences and history have literally filled many volumes. One year after their arrival at Lambar. Because of their German citizenship, the Schweitzers were enemy aliens in the French colony. From the first prisoner of war camp in the Pyrenees, they were taken to a camp in St. Here, Schweitzer had odd feelings of d. He could not lay his finger upon his strange sense of acquaintance and intimacy with the room, and began to wonder if he was losing his mind.. Then awoke one night, the mystery solved: a Van Gogh picture glowed in his mind's eye.. Upon inquiry in the morning, he learned that the building had previously served as a mental institution and was indeed the very same building where Van Gogh had spent four miserable, hopeless months before his suicide. In 1. 92. 0, he was invited to give a lecture in Sweden and there he described how, while being rowed up the Ogowe River from Lambar. He must regain the consciousness of the great chain of life from which he cannot be separated. He must understand that all creation has its value.. Life should only be negated when it is for a higher value and purpose - - not merely in selfish or thoughtless actions. What then results for man is not only a deepening of relationships, but a widening of relationships. Helene, to her sorrow, was not well enough to accompany her husband. However, they corresponded frequently. Rhena saw little of her father during her childhood, but when her own children were grown, Rhena acquired technical lab skills and left for Africa to serve with her father. Schweitzer asked her to take over the role of Administrator of the hospital after his death, and when he passed away at the age of 9. Rhena did fill that role for many years. Subsequently she married an American doctor volunteering at the hospital, Dr. David Miller, and lived with him in rural Georgia until his death in 1. She remains active in and devoted to the interests of her father, and, among other projects, prepared for publication the numerous letters exchanged by her parents during the ten years prior to their marriage in 1. Dr. Schweitzer's fame became increasingly widespread over the years, and many journalists and other curious people flocked to Lambar. But even - - perhaps especially - - here his ingenious individuality asserted itself. Schweitzer was frequently known to say that . Schweitzer was honored for his humanitarian work with the Nobel Peace Prize for the year 1. After he received the prize, although all his life he had avoided becoming engaged in politics, Dr. Schweitzer was profoundly disturbed by the development of nuclear weapons following the bombing of Hiroshima/Nagasaki. Thus, with the urging of many friends, he studied the issue and in 1. One perhaps little- known aspect of Dr. Schweitzer's personality was his sense of humor. To cite just two examples of many: Once, in the middle of a banquet in his honor, Dr. Schweitzer was being pestered to the point of harassment by a journalist who simply did not understand the philosophy of Reverence for Life and repeatedly demanded that Dr. Schweitzer elaborate it for him. You should respect my right to eat.' With that, he excused himself and returned to the banquet. Schweitzer was well aware of. Einstein, will you give us your autograph?' 'I did not want to disappoint them,' he said, 'so I signed their autograph book: Albert Einstein, by his friend Albert Schweitzer.'. Today, although in some quarters history is already painting him as a controversial figure, and several different . He simply acted out of inner necessity..

On the basis of the character analysis in the second part of my paper, I will investigate to what extent the general definitions as well as the definitions of the alternating personality tie up with the double in Stevenson. Character analysis of Jekyll and Hyde. Before analysing the characters, the title of the novel The Strange Case of Dr. Hyde points out the protagonist, Dr. Jekyll, and at the same time the antagonist, Mr. Although both are theoretically one person, I will regard them as two identities in my analysis. By beginning the story with the introduction of Mr. Utterson, who is also a main character, his importance is emphasized. Moreover, the story is told by several narrators. The majority of the chapters are told by a heterodiegetic, covert narrator. In addition, it is an internal focaliser as proper names and the 3rd person singular are used: Mr Utterson the lawyer was a man of a rugged countenance, that was never lighted by a smile; cold, scanty and embarrassed in discourse; backward in sentiment; lean, long, dusty, dreary, and yet somehow lovable. At friendly meetings, and when the wine was to his taste, . Hyde: 9). The character of Utterson gained its importance not only by being firstly introduced but also by having a close relationship to the protagonist as well as to the other minor characters. Stevenson intelligently arranged the narrating voice in order to keep the reader in suspense. This is caused by the fact that Utterson largely is the focaliser whose thoughts, emotions, perceptions, and memories play an important role: . Jekyll respectively Mr. He is the father who creates Hyde, the son. The name Jekyll is not quite a telling name but it is a synonym for the good side of nature up to now. Jekyll, a chemist, is characterized by a heterodiegetic narrator whose position is outside the story and who has an omniscient point of view. For that reason, the narrator is a reliable one.
